Hit The Books Tutoring
About Hit The Books
Emily Hernandez has been working in education since 2005. She holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Loyola Marymount University and earned her multi subject teaching credential from Chapman University.
She has taught multiple grade levels in early and elementary education with the most time spent in fourth grade. With almost 2 decades behind her, she decided to leave the classroom and open Hit The Books Tutoring, so that she could utilize her skills to help students at a more personal level in areas of need.
Hit the Books Tutoring focuses on helping students in Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade in all subjects, with an emphasis on reading comprehension, fluency, phonics, and math.

in both my boys reading level and penmanship."
"Emily is hands down the best teacher my kids
ever had. Her kids thrive in her programs. Definitely recommend."
"Emily has been an AMAZING addition to our
homeschooling routine. Everytime I pick her up she
is beaming, as opposed to grumbling/tears when
we try to do it at home. Emily has a way with children
and it will be a sad day when she ages out of her services."
"Mrs. Hernandez is a very kind, helpful, and spectacular
teacher. She has created a very nice classroom learning
environment for one on one Tutoring sessions."
"My child looks forward to his weekly learning, and
leaves feeling empowered in his studies. Our family
is so thankful for Hit The Books Tutoring for educational support."
"We could not believe how quickly our son was up to grade level.
In 3rd grade he struggled with reading and his writing was illegible.
In one semester he was at grade level and he really enjoys reading, and his writing is great.
Smartest thing we've done for this boy is hire Emily."
